Family background

Robert Henry McDonald was born on 18 September 1878 at Yass, NSW, the son of John McDonald and Jane S Kaizer. He married Sarah Jane Weeks at Waterloo, on 20 May 1902 and they had 4 sons and 2 daughters. He lived at 66 Great Buckingham Street, Redfern.

McDonald died on 2 April 1957, aged 80 years, at Balmain and was buried in the Methodist Section of the Field of Mars Cemetery.

Occupation & interests

Robert McDonald was elected as an independent alderman from Belmore Ward where he worked as a self employed jeweller.

Robert McDonald was a justice of the peace (JP).
