Family background

Edmund Joseph O’Farrell was born on 21 April 1896 at Redfern, NSW, the son of Patrick O’Farrell and Mary Power. He married Marguerite Sweeny (1906-1988) at Sydney on 12 February 1927 and they had 5 sons.

The family lived at 9 Shepherd Street, Redfern. O’Farrell died on 30 May 1972 at Chippendale, NSW, aged 76 years. He was cremated at Northern Suburbs Crematorium.
