Family background

John William Elliott Jnr (known as Jack) lived at 26 Bray Street, Erskineville. He was born in 1872 to  Clara (nee Booth) and John William Elliott Snr, who was also an alderman of Macdonaldtown (Erskineville) from 1885 to 1887. In 1896, he married Catherine Maclean (or McLean). There were at least two children born to the couple. Elliott Jnr moved to Queensland living at 53 Jean Street, Wilston, a suburb of Brisbane. He died on 15 June 1954 and was cremated.

Elliott was a Justice of the Peace (JP).

Local government service

John William Elliott junior was an alderman on Erskineville Council in 1920-47, representing South Ward. He was mayor in 1937 and 1944. Elliot resigned from Erskineville Council on 16 July 1948.
